It started when I was a child and I proclaimed to my parents that I was going to try to be vegetarian for a day. I went through the day trying to stay away from meat and I thought I had done an excellent job.
Then dinner time rolled around and I accidently broke this little pact I had with myself by eating clam chowder, which I only realized after my parents had told me that clams were in fact animals. I was a little distressed and disappointed in myself.
Years later I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it and I wanted to see how I felt after a week of a vegetarian diet, + a handful of wasan (buffalo jerky). I was surprised I didn't feel overly tired the first few days or have cravings, in fact I felt great!
After the trip I have become a quasi-vegetarian, as I still enjoy fish and dairy products.
